Sun screen can dissolve nail polish and this doesn’t only apply to Derma sun care products.
It is necessary to add oil to the sun screens to keep the UV filters dissolved. These oils may affect coated surfaces, such as nail polish, car paint and so on.
In recent years, there has been a growing demand for sun screens with higher UV protection, meaning more UV filters and thus more oil. At the same time, nail polish manufacturers have imposed stricter requirements for ingredients. Consequently, nail polish has become less resistant and easier to dissolve from the oils used in sun screen.
Since all Derma sun screens are AllergyCertified, certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and recommended by Asthma Allergy Nordic, strict requirements are placed on the ingredients. Of course, this also applies to the sun filters.
